Custom Team Sportswear for an American Youth Basketball Program

The Challenge

A basketball coach running a youth athletics program in the United States needed custom performance apparel for multiple teams — and needed it ready before the summer season. Having worked with us on previous orders, he came back with an expanded and more complex request:

Two teams, two identities, one order.
The coach managed two separate teams, each with its own logo, color scheme, and branding. One set featured a bulldog mascot in blue, yellow, and white; the other featured a jaguar head in green and black. Both needed to be produced simultaneously and shipped together.

Adult and youth sizing in the same run.
The program included both adult coaches and young players, so the order required a full size range from XXS through 3XL. Youth and adult compression garments needed to follow different size charts while maintaining the same design and quality.

9 product styles across performance and casual wear.
The order spanned compression T-shirts, 3/4 compression tights, short sleeve hoodies with mesh fabric, and sports shorts — all in both black and white colorways. Each style had different logo placements: front and back on shirts, leg placement on tights and shorts, and custom text on the waistband of the compression tights.

Summer deadline.
The apparel needed to arrive before the start of the summer season, with the coach planning to distribute merchandise to players and sell at events. Every stage had to stay on schedule.

Our Approach

Building on Previous Orders
Because this was a returning client, we already had his measurement charts and production specs on file. When he reached out for a new order, our team confirmed we could work from existing records, saving time on the sizing process. We sent our updated sportswear catalog and the client selected 9 styles. Within hours of receiving his team logos, we produced mockup images showing exactly how each logo would appear on each garment, allowing the client to confirm the look before moving forward.

Sampling and Customization
Samples were produced across all 9 styles and shipped via DHL for the client to evaluate in person. During the review, the client requested an addition — pockets on the short sleeve hoodie — which we incorporated. He also confirmed the mesh fabric for the hoodies and shorts, opting for the same construction he had seen in the samples. The quotation included printed inside size labels and custom waistband text at no additional complexity to the client.

Proactive Quality Control
During the transition from samples to bulk production, our team identified that the logo sizing on the initial production samples did not match the approved specification. Rather than proceeding and risking an inconsistent result, we flagged the issue internally, halted that portion of production, and remade the affected samples to ensure the logo size was correct before continuing. The client was not asked to intervene — we caught and resolved the issue ourselves.

From initial inquiry to confirmed delivery, the full project took approximately 2 months, reflecting the complexity of a 9-style, multi-team order with samples:

Client selected 9 styles and sent two team logos. We produced mockups within hours and issued a detailed quotation with pricing for all styles.

Sample Production
Samples produced across all 9 designs. Size moulds were remade to match the client’s specific measurement charts. Samples shipped via DHL.

Sample Review
Client received and approved samples. Requested pockets added to the short sleeve hoodie and confirmed mesh fabric. Final size breakdown and order details confirmed.

Production
Bulk production completed within approximately 2 weeks. Our team independently caught and corrected a logo sizing issue during production, remaking affected samples before proceeding.

Delivery
Full order shipped with tracking. Additional complimentary pieces included from efficient production runs. Client confirmed receipt.

Quality Control and Shipping

Every garment was inspected against the approved production samples before packing. The most notable quality control moment came when our team independently identified a logo size discrepancy during production and chose to halt and remake rather than ship a substandard result. This decision added a few days to the timeline but ensured the final product matched the client’s expectations exactly.
Efficient pattern layout during cutting produced additional pieces beyond the ordered quantity, which we included at no extra charge. The complete order was shipped with full tracking and a detailed packing list.
