Custom Hoodie and Sweatshirt Manufacturer in China
Most buyers send us a photo of a hoodie they like and say “something like this.” That’s a fine starting point. But a photo won’t tell us the fabric weight, how deep the hood should be, or whether your chest print is going to land right on top of the pocket seam. We figure those things out in the sample before production starts. One of our repeat clients, a US craft brewery, reorders the same 300GSM cotton pullover every quarter. Water-based screen print, Pantone-matched, S to 4XL. That hoodie started with a photo and a phone call. See the full project details.
Send a tech pack if you have one. If you don’t, send reference photos, your estimated quantity, and the fabric weight you want. We confirm the pattern, fabric, size chart, pocket, rib, zipper, artwork placement, and labels in the sample. Same person handles your order from sampling through QC and shipping. Bulk production takes 10 to 15 working days for orders under 1,000 pieces.
01
Brushed Fleece or French Terry, and What Weight
Brushed fleece has a soft, fuzzy inside. It traps air, feels warm, and the hoodie feels heavy when you pick it up. French terry has small loops on the inside instead of fuzz. It’s thinner, more breathable, and works better in warmer weather or as a layering piece.
Both come in 100% cotton or cotton-poly blends. Cotton feels softer but shrinks more and pills faster. A 65/35 cotton-poly blend holds its shape better after repeated washing and costs less per piece.
For weight: 320 to 380gsm is where most streetwear and merchandise orders land. Below 280gsm the hoodie feels cheap when someone picks it up. Above 400GSM you’re paying a lot more. We’ve done 500GSM heavyweight hoodies for a streetwear client who wanted that stiff, boxy drape, but most buyers can’t tell the difference from 380 just by wearing it. We’ve run enough orders at every weight to know where the practical cutoff is.
We send fabric swatches with the sample. You feel the weight, the softness, and the stretch before committing to bulk.

Hood Depth, Body Length, and Six Other Measurements That Change the Whole Hoodie
Two hoodies can have the same chest width and look completely different. The difference is the hood depth, the shoulder drop, the sleeve length, the body length, the cuff tightness, and the waistband width.
A loose, oversized hoodie and a slim gym hoodie start from different patterns. For zip-ups, the zipper length and how evenly the hood splits when zipped also matter.
We lock all of this in the sample. If you’re layering the hoodie over a T-shirt or a work uniform, try the sample on with that layer underneath. Check that the hood sits deep enough when the drawstring is pulled. Approve the fit, and that sample becomes the locked reference for every production run after it.

Where the Print Goes and What Method Works
A large chest print that crosses the kangaroo pocket seam will crack after a few washes. Sleeve graphics shift when the shoulder seam is dropped instead of sitting on the shoulder. You won’t see these problems on a flat design file. They only show up on the actual garment.
We lay your artwork on the real pattern piece before choosing the print method. Screen printing, DTG, heat transfer, water-based printing, flat embroidery, 3D puff embroidery, appliqué. Puff print is the other one that gets asked about a lot. Raised ink that you can feel with your fingers. Works best on flat areas away from seams. We wrote a full guide on puff print hoodies if you want the technical details. The right pick depends on how detailed the artwork is, what the fabric weighs, and what you want it to feel like when you run your hand over the print.
You approve the colors, size, and exact position on the sample. Neck labels, woven tags, and other private label details go into the same spec sheet. When you reorder, we use the same file.
MOQ and Small Orders
Full custom hoodies, your fabric, your pattern, your labels, start at 100 pieces per style per color. One hoodie design in two colors is 200 pieces.
If you pick one of our existing hoodie blanks and just add your logo and neck label, there’s no minimum. We’ve done this for clients who needed 40 crew hoodies in a week and didn’t have time for a full development cycle.
That’s the real split. Custom from scratch: 100 per style per color. Existing blank plus your branding: no floor.
WHO WE MAKE FOR
Different Buyers Need Different Hoodies
A brand testing a new drop, a wholesaler restocking a proven style, and a gym printing staff gear don’t have the same priorities. We set up the hoodie around what each buyer actually needs.
01
Streetwear and DTC Brands
The shape of the hoodie matters more than the print on it. Shoulder drop, body width, hood volume, fabric weight, cuff tension. These need to work together before artwork even enters the conversation. 100 pieces per style per color is enough to test one colorway without sitting on stock you can’t move. Get the fit right on the first order. Add label upgrades and artwork changes on the reorder once you know the base hoodie sells.
02
Wholesalers and Online Sellers
You need a style you can reorder with one message. We save the size chart, fabric code, color references, artwork files, trim details, and packaging spec on file. Next order follows the same sheet. You only update what actually changed: a new color, a different quantity, a size ratio adjustment.
03
Gyms, Clubs and Company Merchandise Buyers
Most merch orders need a visible logo and sizes from S to 3XL. That’s about it. Pullover hoodies work for merchandise you sell or hand out. Zip-ups are easier for staff who need to take them on and off. Crewneck sweatshirts leave the full chest open for a big front graphic. Tell us what the garment is for and we match the fabric and construction to that.
